Helpful Hints for installing a Formco, Inc. replacement Icebox.
Our Iceboxes typically replace the older style Iceboxes found in many Fifth Wheel, Pull Campers, Pop-Up and Truck Campers along with many Marine applications.
• Remove the old Icebox and measure the cut out opening including height, width and depth.
• Outer diameter dimensions are noted. Determine which Icebox best fits your needs with regard to size and color.
• If a new "sizing panel" is needed to fasten over existing opening to "downsize" the opening (this material can be wood, plastic, or even metal) ploase note that Formco does not make these panels due to the vast number of varying sizes. If the opening needs to be enlarged, simply trim it with an appropriate saw to the size of gthe new Icebox OUTER dimension.
• We recommend that a piece of Styrofoam or similiar material be fastened to the floor at the lower rear area of the Icebox for additional support. The Icebox can be installed with either a left or right hand opening by simply rotating it 180°. Place the drain line at the lower rear area of the Icebox, drill a hole through the Icebox and route drain hose through the floor to the underneath of the vehicle or into the bilge.
• When installing the Icebox, make sure it is "square" before securing it to the panel or wall opening to provide proper door-latch closure. If additional holes are needed at the outer diameter flange, drill pilot holes slightly larger than screw diameter at the center of the flange.
• We recommend using a mild detergent for cleaning purposes. Do not use solvents, fuel chemicals, citrus cleaners or any abrasive type cleaning products.
